COVID-19 NASN Survey - YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT

Posted almost 4 years ago by Cristina Marchant

First, we hope you are well during this time.

COVID-19 has changed how we live. Many schools are shut, many school nurses are working remotely. The role of school nurses during times of crisis as well, including preparations for return to schools is not well understood. The National Association of School Nurses invites you to participate in a survey to better understand how COVID-19 has impacted health in schools, and the role school nurses are playing during this time. NASN hopes to use the information to better inform future policy as to the needs of schools related to infection control measures and health crises, as well as highlight the activities of school nurses. All answers will be kept anonymous.

It is estimated to take about 20 minutes for practicing school nurses to complete. We know this is a valuable amount of your time, however, we feel the information we glean from the survey will have a lasting impact in policy and programming. You are able to begin the survey and then return to finish it.

The questions ask activities before and during the crises, as well as plans for when schools reopen. There is an item that will ask you to share any activities you are most proud of to address working virtually (if you are able). You may want to type this up ahead of time, to make it easier to insert.

In addition, there is another item in the survey that will ask you to share links to articles or media highlighting school nurses in your area. Please locate that link before starting the survey. You can also skip either question if you have nothing to share.

If you would like to participate please click [here] to go to the survey. Please complete the survey by May 1, 2020. The survey is open to all school nurses, school nurse administrators, and University faculty teaching school nurses, so please feel free to send to your school nursing colleagues. May you stay safe and well.
